Yee Haw

I took my wife to the rodeo this past weekend and it was a blast. So many people gathered together to see bull riding and mutton riding. I love to watch the mutton riding. It must be such a kick for a kid to get on top of that sheep and ride the sheep barely hanging on to it for dear life. The kids fall on the ground, but you have rodeo clowns and pretty rodeo girls helping you up. The kid who got the best score had the opportunity to kiss one of them rodeo girls. It is quite a site to see. Afterward, all the kids lined up and a big applause cracked the air. Each kid was presented a trophy taller than some of the kids by a professional rodeo cowboy. It was a great time for each kid and a great time for everybody in the audience.

I was really happy to see that each kid got a trophy and nobody was left out. There were no 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophy. Each kid got the best reward in the mutton riding. Sometimes I think God wants us to be the mutton rider. Each kid tried his best to ride the sheep. As God’s people, we should strive to do our best in everything we do for God. Each kid was rewarded a wonderful trophy. We are rewarded the highest reward possible and that is salvation through Jesus Christ. I think a lot of us think that we do more for God than some other people. It might be true. But the church is the body of Christ. Every part of the body is important and we all need to work together. We got to do our best to ride that mutton.

I think our best for God shines in us but for others as well. I always found it wonderful to see a group of God’s people go out there and just be a blessing to the world through helping those less fortunate. So ride that mutton the best that you can and God will always bless you with rewards greater than you can imagine.

In Christ,

Stan
