Wrapped in Prayer

You know, we tend to pray when we need something, don’t we? Help, mercy, protection, forgiveness, healing… And that’s cool. God wants us to reach out when we know we’re not enough. And Jesus taught us to pray like that in the Lord’s Prayer: for God’s will, for daily needs, for forgiveness, for protection.

But Jesus also taught us to pray for others. In John 17 Jesus prays for himself and for his disciples.

And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one. ~ John 17:11

Who do you pray for?

Who prays for you?

May we be a community who prays for one another so that we may each know that we are wrapped in prayer and surrounded by God’s love.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow June 1st, the day known as Nancy Nickoley Day! A day to celebrate and honor the professional ministry of Nancy at GGCC. 9 or 10:30 am. And, we’ll be praying for Nancy and for you.

God bless you,

"I know that when I pray, something wonderful happens. Not just to the person or persons for whom I'm praying, but also something wonderful happens to me. I'm grateful that I'm heard." – Maya Angelou
