Worst Dangers

Dear Saints and Sinners,

“Long ago Percy Dreamer wonderfully emphasized this significance of the Church’s heritage. He exclaimed that in it's recorded words we have the accumulated wisdom and beauty of the Christian Church, the garnered excellence of many saints. We are by them from the accidents of time and place. Above all we are preserved against the worst dangers of selfishness; in the common prayer we join together in a great fellowship that is wide as the world, and we are guided, not by the limited notions of our own desires, but by the mighty voice that rises from the general ear of Christendom.” –Marva J. Dawn  (“Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down, A Theology of Worship for the Turn-of-the-Century Culture” 1995)

Who are the saints who have died and gone before you, that still have your ear?  Ponder them and give thanks for them. For they are the voice of God protecting you from the “worst dangers of selfishness.”

Hold in prayer: Bismarck, the missionary in Nicaragua whom GGCC sponsors, his family and the people of that nation. Those recovering from Hurricane Michael. Government leaders. The poor. Those who mourn.

Let us all give Thanks for the gift of Amazing Grace  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIS0shC8u5I

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
