Worship in the World

Yesterday, 66 GGCC participants and friends served with the Extreme Community Makeover in the Westwood neighborhood in Denver. It was an amazing day being church in the world.

In John 20:24-29, Thomas doubts and it's not until he sees Jesus that he believes. His doubt turns into faith. We all have skepticisms and questions in our lives. There are fears and doubts when we immerse into the unknown like we did yesterday. It's okay to doubt, without having to live that way. Doubt encourages rethinking. It can be a positive thing. Jesus said that "if you have the power of faith and do not doubt you will be able to move mountains, do great works of love and move mountainous burdens."

Mountains were moved yesterday - relationships were built as we spent the day in a community that blessed us more than we blessed them. As we served, shared lunch and worshiped with the residents and each other, fears and doubts turned into faith.

God is good! His Spirit surrounded us in many ways! Click here and check out photos.

As you move along with your week, please ponder a few questions:
• What can we learn from Thomas?
• How do we keep faith even in our doubts?
• How has the Risen Christ reached into your life of fear and doubt and transformed your faith?
