Work It Out

Jesus says: “If a fellow believer hurts you, go and tell him—work it out between the two of you. If he listens, you’ve made a friend.” Matt 15:20 Msg

Jesus sure has some crazy ideas about relationships. Go talk to the person, face to face, who hurt you? Why would you do that? It’s much easier to complain about the person behind their back, hold a grudge or pull away.

Working out our issues with a difficult person is, well, difficult. Sometimes working out our issues with a loved one who has behaved in a difficult manner is, well, difficult. I read a post by Shauna Niequist that reminded me how to keep relationships alive and well.

Go read that post titled, “Why It Doesn’t Matter How You Feel About Your Friends” here

Perhaps if we work on showing our friends how much they mean to us, it will be easier to follow Jesus’ instruction to “work it out” when things get difficult. May we be the kind of friends Jesus dreams we can be.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9 or 10:30 to show our love for Jesus and one another.

Grace and peace,
