With Us

What are you thinking about this 4th day of the new year? There’s lots of news. There are always the conversations about resolutions and fresh starts.

Peace has been on my mind.

Last Sunday, a friend of God’s Grace, Rick Love, passed away. Rick led our 2015 Advance. His life’s work was peacemaking – especially bringing Christians and Muslims together to get to see each other as created in the image of God. He helped found an organization called Peace Catalyst.

Peace seems to be in short supply. Tensions are running high between nations, among political parties, and in people’s homes.

We celebrate Christmas to remember that God came to be with us. Most of our peace mentors say that peace begins with us. The key words that stand out to me are with us. God is with us so that peace can begin with us.

"Peace starts within each one of us. When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities, and so on. When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace." Dalai Lama

Brad Corrigan, founded Love, Light and Melody with just that thought – peace, love and light started with him stepping out in faith. Brad will be with us tomorrow at 10:00 am as we gather for worship. It won’t be the same without you!

Grace be with you,
