Wings Fly When You're Having Fun

Having spent just shy of three weeks with my parents, complete with a road trip to see my sister out east I have been reminded just how important it is to "live in the moment".

The time we spent together was filled with many lasting memories and lots of laughter thru great conversations, sight seeing and flying hot wings ... we even managed to find humor (all be it after the fact) thru the trying times like leaking sink pipes, traffic stopping hail storms in the middle of the interstate and curbs.

The almost three weeks flew by and I have found myself back into the "reality" of single living and work. While it is nice to have my space and routines back, I miss the closeness of my family; and altho we may be apart in miles, we are not far from each others heart.

One thing that has resonated with me lately since returning home from vacation is a conversation we had while eating lunch with one of my uncles.  He said "life is a series of choices, if you don't like the outcome, make another choice."  One choice leads to another, and another and so forth.

We get pulled into so many different directions - work, family, friends, obligations and more that at times it is hard to remain in the moment.  At times we need to be reminded that we are but one person and that we are to do our best, cherishing each moment as tho it may be our last; to be present in the moment, trying not to look back to what was or ahead to what may be.

On Tuesday, I saw this post on the Terry Hershey Facebook Fan Page.  I think it speaks for itself and I encourage you to remember that life is a series of choices, that we rise and fall and that thru the journey of life, time is precious, make a choice to "be in the moment".

Dear God, Thank you for the gift of family and friends and the precious time we spend with each other. Please help us to make a series of choices that keep us in the precious present, enjoying the beautiful things you have set before us. Amen
