Window of Opportunity

In an hour’s time, it’s sunny, it’s cloudy - I turn off the lights, turn on the lights.

It’s cool, it’s warm - I put on a sweatshirt, take off my sweatshirt.

It’s raining, it’s not - I turn on my windshield wipers, turn off my windshield wipers.

The unusual weather with all the rain this spring has felt more like fall and the changing patterns have gone on like this for weeks now. There have been little windows of opportunity to go for a walk or sit outside before Mother Nature decides to change it up again. If I don’t do it now, I miss it.

How many opportunities have I missed - not to just sit outside or take a walk - but to interact and engage with others, share a meal, take the time to really listen to my husband and children, help someone else in need, show hospitality, be compassionate, share my faith? It’s easy to say later today, tomorrow, next week, next month.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.    Ephesians 2:10

Let me seize and savor these precious moments – these windows of opportunity – to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

In His Grace,
Nancy Nickoley
