Who Am I?

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Take some time to ponder Jesus' great question, "Who do the people say that I am?....Who do you say that I am?” (Matthew 16:13, 15

It is a challenge to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God. It is also a challenge to act upon that belief, to live our lives as if Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus expects us to not only believe in him but also to follow him. Furthermore, it is a challenge to believe what Jesus believes about us. We are the Messiah's plan for what the Messiah plans to do with the world. We believe in Jesus, but Jesus also believes in us

Let us pray….Lord Jesus, in your wisdom you have called us to be your disciples. Sometimes, when we consider our weaknesses, when we ponder the huge challenges that lay before us as a church, we wonder why you believed that we could be your disciples. What did you see in us? Why did you believe that we could be made worthy of your faith in us?  Blessed Lord, give us the grace to believe in ourselves as much as you believe in us. Inspire in us the confidence that you will give us what we need to be faithful to you. Amen.

Still in one peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
