Which Path?

On Sunday, Pastor Jolly spoke of God’s path. What he intends us to do and where he wants us to be. Sometimes he wants us to be out on a sunny beach in Mexico or stuck in cold and windy Wyoming. We do not always think that we are somewhere for a reason or we wonder why we are there in the first place. I am often one of those people. I look for meaning in just about everything.

Sunday, it occurred to me, I don’t have to constantly wonder why and how I just have to trust in the path that I have been set on. The goals that I want to accomplish are often on that path, sometimes they aren’t, but things seem to work themselves out. Sometimes the path leads you to something that you never knew was possible or desired.

A path may seem wrong at times also. I didn’t really want my path to lead me to another surgery. I definantly did not want it leading me to the ICU for a couple days while I was supposed to be relaxing over spring break. But now I know that caused the next part of the path to light up for me. Being stuck in recovery has made some new possibilities bloom. I have more time to focus on schoolwork, tuning my skills in art, and I am more social than ever. I have the opportunity to get a job and an internship over summer and I can’t wait to see where everything else on this path takes me.

Followers of Jesus, do not doubt. See your path and follow the light. God is good to those who listen and trust.
