What to do...

What to do when you don’t know what to do.

You ever have times when you just don’t know what to do. Things pile up, your to do list gets horizontal instead of vertical. What should you do first? What ball is going to drop? I know I do. Right now I am kind of in that frame of mind.

Well- I am reading Killing Jesus, by Bill O’Reilly- say what you want about him, his politics, his type of journalism- the book is great.

I had to travel to Chicago this week for work, and the meeting was kind of intense, and all I could think about was the “stuff” waiting for me at home. My family, things I need to do around the house, things I need to get done for work. My mind was kind of swirling to the point where I couldn’t even make my “to do “ list. So you ask, “what does this have to do with the book?”

The book calmed me down.

Clearer thoughts prevailed.

I am sure my blood pressure dropped.

The book is about Christ’s ministry, life and eventual torture and crucifixion. How can I be so off track, when Christ died for me, when he took on all of the sins of the world for all of mankind? How do the details of life compare to this story? There is no comparison.

I am at the point in the book where Judas has just betrayed HIM and HE knows what is to come. The loneliness HE must have felt- the pain HE is going to endure. Overwhelming.

God is with us always, in all ways. Good times, bad times, the I do not know what to do times.
I am embarrassed to say that this book reminded me of that. So turn to God at all times, all the time. AMEN
