Well done

Dear Girls and Boys,

You are all currently seeing advertisements for the new season of "American Idol."  Think about American Idol for a moment.

The show puts out an invitation for contestants and thousands and thousands swamp the convention centers across the country in cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, Chicago, Philadelphia, Greensboro, Washington, D.C., Houston, Honolulu, Denver, Detroit, St Louis, Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando, Nashville, Memphis, Dallas, Cleveland, and Austin.

The contestants vie for an opportunity to appear before the panel of judges, hoping for a favorable assessment of their talents and abilities.

The humorous part is this- that often, especially in the early rounds, the hopefuls are utterly unaware of their talent, even though it is obvious to others.

Change the venue for a moment and consider that if we were to apply to a different Judge and say, “ Hey, I am willing and ready for you to use me," you’d get a response that wouldn’t denigrate your talent, but would applaud your availability. You’d be put to work, and chances are, you’d hear the words, "Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your reward.”

“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations---that’s what I had in mind for you,” God’s call of Jeremiah.
Jeremiah's response, "Hold it, Master God! Look at me. I don’t know anything. I’m only a boy.”          (Jeremiah 1:5,6)

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David Jensen
