We Will Not Be Satisified

Dear Dreamers,

"Martin Luther King Jr said, "that any religion that is not concerned about the poor and disadvantaged, the slums that damn them, the economic conditions that strangle them and the social conditions that cripple them, is a spiritually moribund religion awaiting burial." In his ‘Dream’ speech, my father paraphrased the prophet Amos, saying, “We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream."" --Martin Luther King the 3rd., President and chief executive of the Martin Luther King, Jr Center for Nonviolent Social Change (Source the Washington Post)

On Sunday the Rev. Dr. Larron Jackson will be our guest speaker. He has a degree from Emory in Atlanta. He served on a board with Martin Luther King Jr’s father. He had Coretta Scott King for a Professor. He grew up in East St Louis where he gained insights into the racism within America most of us do not have. I hope you will each be able to come and hear him preach at God's Grace Community Church (GGCC) this weekend. Larron was also an All American offensive guard at Missouri, and went on to play for the Denver Broncos where he served as a player representative who fought for player rights as plaintiff in the John Mackey lawsuit.

The text for this week’s worship will be John 8:27-32. What does it mean to know the "...truth that will set us free"?

Pray about your potential participation in the MLK Marade in Denver this Monday. If you are unable to serve thisserve this year, I hope you can do it some year. The Marade is an event that is worth the inconvenience of rearranging your day.

There are further details about Dr. Jackson, the Marade, and other ministry opportunities on the GGCC website GodsGraceCC.com.

Still in one peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
