We Can

We can do hard things. We can stand up for the marginalized. We can reach out to the lost. We can share with the poor. We can comfort the sick. We can include the excluded.

How?

Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. Phil 4:13 Msg

Jesus’ mercy isn’t just a theory. Jesus isn’t the mascot of the church. Jesus isn’t just a cool dude. Jesus is the face of God.

Jesus announced and enacted the Kingdom of God.

What does the Kingdom look like? A big feast where everyone is invited, included and welcome. Everyone.

We finish up our series on Old Testament characters tomorrow with the story of Esther. She was a minority who normally wouldn’t have been invited the table but found herself being made queen. Through her position and her faith in God, the One who made her, she was able to do hard things and rescue her people.

We may think we’re not qualified or powerful or wise enough to announce and enact the Kingdom of God. But, Paul teaches us that with Jesus: I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Phil 4:13 NRSV

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. as we worship, learn, thank, and pray.

Grace be with you,

Vikki
