We Are Hungry...

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In Matthew 14, Jesus looked up to heaven, took a couple of loaves of bread, blessed them, broke the loaves and fed 5000 men (odds are there were women and children there as well, whose number took the group well beyond the recorded 5000.)

We are hungry dear God. We hunger for a world where your hope and Easter truth spring up out of the ashes of 89 dead in Oslo. Our appetite desires a bread that will fill the hearts of those who fear our leaders cannot move beyond an impasse on legislation that will prevent the default on our nation's finances. We want to filled with a food that takes away the hunger pangs of job loss, addiction, loneliness, death, and health concerns. Lord remove the fear within and fill us with your love.

Let us pray.
”Give me daily bread , dear Lord I pray.
I am not so much in need of bread to feed all the hungry parts of me.
Keep me aware , please , that food for mind, and feeling , and spirit, is as important as my body’s bread.
And give me love, and hope , and trust, and openness , too, on which to feed, on which to live.
In Jesus name . Amen.”

Let us come to the table and dine on the one perfect food offered by the master. Nothing else will ever satisfy the hunger deep within. At this table there is truth and hope that lasts for eternity.

Still in one peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
