Walking in the Footsteps

Tomorrow is All Saints Sunday, a day we remember those dearly departed people who lived in faith, hope and love. We like to define a saint as a forgiven sinner. Therefor we are all saints.

We especially like to remember those saints who had an impact on our own faith. These saints can be people who passed on the faith to us through relationship like our parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles. These saints can be people who modeled for us a life of faith like Mother Theresa and MLK. These saints can be people whose written words had an impact on us like Henri Nouwen, Martin Luther or Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

And our saints include Jesus, the apostles, the prophets and kings who we read in God’s word, the Bible. I have been privileged, with your support, to be a part of a group that has traveled to Israel these past two weeks. Later today we begin the trip home. Walking in the footsteps of these saints is an amazing way to deepen one’s faith. Thank you.

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. ~ Saint Augustine

May tomorrow be a special time of worship as the saints, living and dead, are gathered together in one spirit. (They always are, we just remember that better and with more intentionality on All Saints Sunday!) 9:00 and 10:30 am

Grace be with you,

Hello, Neat post. There's a problem with your site in web explorer,
would check this? IE nonetheless is the market leader and a big part of other
folks will omit your wonderful writing because of this problem.
