Trouble, Distress

Psalm 119:143-144 “Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands are my delight. Your statutes are forever right; give me understanding that I may live.”

I find comfort in knowing GOD is there and I feel this in this passage. When I find myself in trouble and distress, following Jesus gives me comfort and peace even in the midst of my distress.

It is in trying to take control from GOD, in trying to make things happen to my content that I increase my stress… distress, and troubles.

Psalm 119:129-135 “Your statutes are wonderful, therefore, I obey them. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. Redeem me from the oppression of men, that I may obey your precepts. Make your face shine upon your servant and teach me your decrees.”

Precious Father, Loving God, Holy Spirit I pray for every child, woman, and man on this earth as we experience the fears of the world, hate, anger, resentment, prejudice, job loss, violence, loss, illness… Our hearts, our minds, our souls, cry out to you, for your presence, your touch, your peace which passes all understanding in our lives. AMEN!
