Toini Jo

Thank you for all your prayers and love on the death of my mother. 

Toini Josephine Lintala Reese, 77, of Reynoldsburg, OH (Formerly of Worthington, OH) passed away August 19, 2016. Toini was born July 21, 1939 in Columbus, OH on her dad’s birthday; her parents Tauno and Theo Lintala; and sister, Vikki Jurs, preceded her in death.

Toini is survived by her husband, Edmond Reese. She was proud of her children: Vikki (Terry) Luce of Highlands Ranch, CO; Beth Carmean of Pataskala, OH; Rob Lerch of Columbus, OH; and stepson, Larry (Kathleen) Reese of Atlanta, GA. Being “Grammy” was the greatest joy of her life, to: Andrew Luce of Adel, IA; Isaac (Stephanie) Luce of Westminster, CO; Annie and Molly Carmean of Pataskala, OH; and Alexandra and William Reese of Atlanta, GA.

She is also survived by brothers, Erik (Laurie) Lintala of Massepequa, NY; Peter (Mary) Lintala of Sioux Falls, SD and brother-in-law, Bernie Jurs of Spencerport, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She attended North High School and graduated from Wooster High School in 1957. She graduated from Columbus Technical Institute in Secretarial Science with a career as an Executive Secretary with AEP. Toini and Edmond Reese were married on September 17, 1983.

Toini loved to read and throughout her life could always be found with a mystery book in hand. She was an active volunteer at Ascension Lutheran Church serving over the years with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Financial Ministry, Bible Study and Altar Guild. She was an artist and recently took up painting again. She knitted, made crafts and collected antique treasures over the years. She considered herself to be athletic playing several sports in high school and played in numerous bowling leagues. She loved visiting Colorado and its mountains and sites.
