Time to Give Thanks

Dear New Year People,

“Gratitude is the heart's memory.”  -- old French proverb

Jesus healed 10 lepers. When only one returned to offer thanks. Jesus said, "Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this one (who was a Samaritan a foreigner)?” (Luke 17:17)

You might be very glad to have escaped the awful times of 2018. You might be hoping against hope that 2019 could be even half as great as 2018 was. Whatever your posture headed into the new year, it is a time to give thanks. Reflect on what was and what is about to be.  May you be blessed to be the one who returns to give thanks to God.

Prayers: For the Dietvorst family who held the memorial service for Jim’s mother on Monday in Grand Junction, CO; those who lack shelter, the hungry, the blessings of the past and the opportunities of the new year, fruit comes from the lessons learned in 2018.

I hope you had a blessed New Year’s Day, and a wonderful adventure with Christ lies ahead in 2019!

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
