The Wind Blows

The wind blows and it’s scary. We’ve had a number of storms over the last few weeks. My grand-dog has big timestorm-anxiety. I don’t like the wind much either.

Tomorrow is the day of Pentecost. The #3 celebration in the church after Christmas and Easter. The wind blew and made a commotion. (Acts 2:1-21)

God comes into our lives and it’s scary. We might need to talk to people we don’t know, people who are different, people who speak a different language. The blows us out of our safe places into the world. Jesus promises to be with us.

And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind. Acts 2:2a

Not in just the upper room,
not in just one place
or time,

but everywhere.

You
light up
all creation.

Come, O Spirit.
Set your fire in our hearts.
~ Anne Osdieck

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9 or 10:30 for the celebration of Pentecost.

Grace and peace,
Vikki
