The Voice of God

Hey, it’s the weekend. THE weekend that kicks off summer for us, right? School’s out. Grads are being celebrated. Those who died serving to bring peace are remembered. The grills are going and the pools are open. What a time of year!

May we take time to remember that God speaks. Into our world, into our lives and into our hearts. In the beauty of the days. In our relationships. In the hope of the future.

Psalm 29

The Voice of God in a Great Storm

A Psalm of David.

Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,[a]
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name;
worship the Lord in holy splendor.

The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord, over mighty waters.
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon skip like a calf,
and Sirion like a young wild ox.

The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord causes the oaks to whirl,[b]
and strips the forest bare;
and in his temple all say, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned as king forever.
11 May the Lord give strength to his people!
May the Lord bless his people with peace!

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow as we gather to worship our three in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We’ll hear from some of our vets what Memorial Day means to them. It will be a special morning and it won’t be the same without YOU.

Grace be with you,

Vikki
