The Power of One

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

My wife Amy, Vikki Luce, and Mary Jo Bruner all recently returned from Managua,Nicaragua where they served as a ministry team. They visited Amanda Jensen who is serving there for seven weeks this summer through the organization “Love, Light and Melody.”

It is such a blessing that they were able to go. Some might say it is futile. So many there are in poverty and the resources are so limited. What can one, or a few do to transform a situation?

One of my favorite quotes is from Ralph Waldo Emerson, “ To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the a world a bit better, whether by a healthy child ,a garden patch, or redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you lived; this is to have succeeded.”

May you each seek to succeed as Ralph Waldo Emerson suggests.

God bless,

Pastor David J. Jensen
