The Instigator

We recently adopted another dog, Lola, as a companion for Mulligan. It’s a long story but the short version is that they are from the same litter so brother and sister are back together again. They are almost 7 months old and it’s very interesting to see the differences between them. They both have a lot of energy but Mulligan is much more laid back and kind of an old soul compared to Lola who is like an energizer bunny. We’ve nicknamed her Miss-Chevious.

It can be quiet and peaceful and then …. Bam! Lola is charging and catapulting herself at Mulligan. And the fun begins.

Which reminds me of how the Holy Spirit works in me. Sometimes there is a whisper and then other times a fierce wind that howls loudly trying to get my attention. The Holy Spirit is the instigator – the motivator and mastermind who helps to bring about something that’s been created in me and encourages me to bring that forward into the world.

Thank you my Creator – the architect of my life - who had such wisdom to give me the Holy Spirit that dwells in me, sometimes whispering and other times charging and catapulting me to follow where I’m being called and be Jesus to the world.

Psalm 139:7-12The Message (MSG)

Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit?
to be out of your sight?
If I climb to the sky, you’re there!
If I go underground, you’re there!
If I flew on morning’s wings
to the far western horizon,
You’d find me in a minute—
you’re already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I’m immersed in the light!”
It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you.
