The Come and Go

I am in a weird spot in my life. As I write this I have a little under a year and a half of my undergraduate degree, and recently with the knowledge that one of my two best friends is transferring over this year, I have tried to talk to more people. However, these new people are only going to be physically around for at most a year. Girls I have feelings for, teammates just now joining rugby, random friends in classes and microbiology club. It’s hard to be open and willing to grow. Thankfully, God showed up through a text from my other best friend at CSU. God likes to show up and show off, in this case he was showing up in a friend who I know to be not religious. She sent me a passage of John 6: 37.

Everyone the Father gives me will come to me. I will never send away anyone that comes to me.

The people who come into your life are there for whatever amount of time that may be, our Father will make use of whatever time that may be. Whether its teaching us what we are looking for in the person who we will marry, or just giving lonely human souls some brief companionship, in the words of Rob Bell, “God wastes nothing”.
