The Bible Tells Me So

Dear Doers,

“Don’t the Bible say we must love everybody?”

“O, the Bible! To be sure, it says a great many things; but, then, nobody ever thinks of doing them.”

Harriet Beecher Stowe, UNCLE TOM’S CABIN

Today the members of the ministry trip to Booneville, Mississippi return.  Our prayer is that the words of Harriet Beecher Stowe have not held true. Over the course of the week we have had opportunity to reflect upon the scripture and to step into sacred relationships with new brothers and sisters in Christ. We have been blessed, and we pray that through us  Jesus has blessed the other as well.

With authenticity we pray that the sacred time of this week uses the words of Beecher Stowe as inspiration to see the Bible with a renewed faith, and that it indeed does say a great many things, and it inspires us to be doing such things from Mississippi to Colorado. For the true power of the Bible is found in Jesus' capacity to hit the ever moving target of a human heart.

Reflect upon Matthew 25 and our calling to see Jesus in our heart, home, city, Colorado, Mississippi, the immigrants on the border, Palestine and everywhere there are those who are displaced and despised.

Still in one peace,

Pastor David J Jensen
