Thanks Dad

Father’s Day. It’s not quite the same as Mother’s Day, is it? There aren’t Dad’s Day brunches or special jewelry for fathers. Relationships with fathers can be tricky. And bonds with our dads can affect our relationship with our God, our heavenly father.

What’s a child to do?

Remember that our earthly dads usually do the best they can; but God our Father loves the world so much that he sent his only son so we would know what his love is like.

A fun way to explore father / child relationships is by watching movies. Here’s a list of films that can help us come to terms with our feelings for our fathers. So in honor of Father’s Day, grab your dad or a dad you know and watch my favorite, Big Fish.

You won’t want to miss tomorrow’s worship: Terry Herzog shares his story of the time the doctors say he died several times. And! Pancake Breakfast. We’ll be looking for you at 9:00 or 10:30, breakfast from 8:30 – Noon. We'll remind one another of God's great love for us and celebrate, forgive and thank our dads.

Grace and peace,
Vikki
