Tempting Love

It’s easy to be tempted. One more piece of candy, one more game, one more silly TV show.

It’s easy to be tempted around Valentine’s Day: no one loves me, I’m not worthy, I don’t have what it takes to be in a good relationship, I’m alone.

As we begin the season of Lent the scripture we look at tomorrow is from Luke 4:1-13: Jesus alone in the wilderness and being tempted. I wonder why Jesus had to do that? I wonder if wandering in the wilderness and being tempted is just part of the human experience and Jesus – fully God and fully human – needed to experience that.

But, what does Jesus’ time in the wilderness mean for us? We can trust that our times of wilderness, struggles and desert places are not our endings, but are opportunities to know that God is our strength and our nourishment and our center.

On Valentine’s Day, whether we have a “valentine” or not we can know that God loves us, that God thinks we’re worthy and we’re not alone.

Richard Rohr says, “Jesus did not come to change the mind of God about humanity; Jesus came to change the mind of humanity about God.”

Jesus says: You are God’s best Valentine.

Come celebrate this great love tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 as we love on each other and thank God for love, mercy and peace.

Grace be with you,

Hello! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established
blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog?
I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast.

I'm thinking about creating my own but I'm not sure where to start.
Do you have any points or suggestions? Appreciate

Great blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own blog soon but I'm a little lost
on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so
many choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed ..
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!
