Telling it Together

Dear Kingdom Dwellers,

What are the odds that you’d know brothers and sisters in Highlands Ranch~ Five Points, Denver~ Nicaragua~ and Booneville, Mississippi? My hunch the answer is “slim to none.” We live in a world that craves that kind of diversity, we all get invited into it. However, most of us retreat to the homogenous safety of those who are like us. The courage to bust the inertia of homogeneity is the type of world that God has a vision for, I believe it is the composition of the promised land...The fabric of the Kingdom of God.

I like Bruce Springsteen’s expression of the “Promised Land “ in his song of the same name.

When his entire band, the “E Street Band” went into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Springsteen said, “The narrative you tell together, is bigger than anything you can tell on your own.” God has a huge narrative in mind for each of us to tell. To achieve the vision God has in mind, the church will need to awaken to a fresh vision as expressed by Springsteen in this song “Land of Hope and Dreams.”

This Sunday we have the pleasure of hosting the Reverend Gabe Jolly of Hopewell Baptist Church on the outskirts of Booneville, Mississippi. We’ll talk about how The Holy Spirit began birthing this day into existence 33 years ago.

KEEP IN MIND WE ONLY HAVE ONE SERVICE AT 10AM! THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL MEAL TO FOLLOW THAT ALL ARE INVITED TO.

Read Matthew 28:16-20 for further reflection.

Still in one peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
