Taking Shape

People come into our lives – people we meet on the bus, or people we work with for years, or neighbors – sometimes for a very short period, sometimes for a long period.

I had a co-worker tell me once that she believed that people were in our lives for a reason, regardless of how long they were in our lives. She wasn’t a particularly religious person, in fact, maybe not religious at all. I have had other friends refer to the comings and goings of people in our lives as a “God thing”.

I do believe that God has a specific purpose for everyone we meet – and even those whom we just have a conversation with, but never find out their name. These connections all have a purpose – maybe not for each of us, personally, maybe for those whose lives we touch. All of these moments – long and short – become the fabric of our being, intertwined to make beautiful and unique patterns.

Who will you meet today that you may touch their life or they touch yours?
