Take Sides

Dear Mourners,

One of the worlds heroes, Elie Wiesel died this week at the age of 87 .  Wiesel was a Noble Laureate.  He was Romanian born and a survivor of the Nazi Holocaust.  His classic work was the book “Night.”

When accepting the Noble Peace Prize in 1986 he said ,”Whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation, take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”

We are cowardly in the face of the courage God offers us when we say such things as ,”Well it is not my fault,  I stayed out of it.”   We are left no choice by Christ's standards but to become involved and offer support when others suffer . Jesus taught us ,”Just as you did it to the least of these you did it for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

Where is God calling upon you to take courage and to take a side?

See Judges Chapters 4 and 5 to see how Deborah took a side to serve the other.

I also highly recommend you read the book “Night.”

Prayers—For those who take a stand to serve the downtrodden and forgotten, All who continue to mourn our brother Don Medsker, May the memory of Elie Wiesel be blessed among us. The terrorism and violence on planet earth, Your own spiritual life.

Still in one peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen

Whenever I look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine however, if opening in Internet
Explorer, it's got some overlapping issues. I merely wanted to provide
you with a quick heads up! Besides that, excellent blog!
