Take It To The Hoop, Y'all

I watch a lot of sports and there was this absolutely crazy tournament in March called the March Madness. There were a load of college teams bidding for that one title which names your college the best college basketball team in the land. One name I kept hearing throughout the tournament and that name was Butler. I believe it is a small college from Indiana and they were young and feisty. The coach looked like a reserve player on the bench. They did not win the tournament but they got to the final four. With all the mighty teams in the tournament and teams from large colleges, it is in my mind impossible for this Butler team to go that far. Impossible, but the impossible became possible. If you are not into college basketball, you still found yourself routing for this team.

I am routing for our church, God’s Grace. It started with just a small bunch of people but yet the impossible became possible. They became a church and the things that God’s Grace church does are amazing. They make such a great impact with such a small group of people. Even some big churches don’t do as much and that is a shame. I think God works though people that are available and hungry for the Holy Spirit. I think God works best when the situation seems hopeless, but yet He comes in like a flood. Then you will see His glory and it is beautiful and awesome.

There is a famous story about a little boy who was able to beat a huge giant of a man with a slingshot and a stone. The boy believed that God is mightier than anything in this world and God worked through him to slay the giant. God works through people that believe in Him and the impossible will become possible with God. So don’t give up. Take it to the hoop and you will score every time with the Almighty.

In Christ,
Stan
