Sunday to Monday/Offending People in High Places

“My house shall be a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.” Luke 19:46

Pastor Dave continued the sermon series of Jesus’ Bad Habit yesterday, “Offending People in High Places.”

Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem. He was angry and had great concern about what the temple was really up to – some things that needed to be driven out and new things that might come in.

What if certain things are driven out in the garden of our hearts and Christ comes in a fresh new way with action taken that impacts the kingdom of God? The purpose of the temple is so you never forget who you are and where your home is and then to be sent in mission to serve others.

Please keep our mission team, Vikki and our youth, in your prayers this week as they serve the last, the least, the lost and the lonely in Cortez, Colorado.

Go here if you missed worship. Prayers of the day here.

Reflections for this week:

  • After reading Luke 19:41-48, do you think Jesus had a temper? Is a temper always good or always bad?
  • Name a time you apologized for being angry. When have you become angry for a just cause?
  • How is the world a different place because Christ cleansed the temple?
  • Looking ahead to next week: Pray for our political leaders everywhere.
