Sunday to Monday/Love and Peace or Else

"We are to act in such a way that the nature of God becomes visible." ~Rowan Williams

Yesterday was the last in our sermon series on the Spirituality of U2. We heard from Executive Minister Vikki Luce.

Salvation is both personal and communal.  We are here to be saved as a community.  Not only are we supposed to carry one another, we get to carry on another. That is how we become one.

Jesus teaches us that a life where we help others, feed those that are hungry and pursue justice and peace for all is how we should live.

U2 models the idea of Spiritual Journey.  We see not only in their music but in their actions they have tried to be people as people who say, my faith makes a difference.

Photos from last week & yesterday.

Taking the message into the  week:

  • Where does your faith take you into the world? Where do you think Jesus is leading you?
  • How do you hear the voices of “truth-tellers” today? Through music, books, art or ?
  • Bono says, “You can’t fix every problem, but the ones you can, you must.” What problems are you called to fix?
  • What implications does it have for your life to know not only are we supposed to carry one another, we get to carry one another?
  • Looking ahead to next week: How does the Reformation of the Church 500 years ago impact our lives today?
