Sunday to Monday/God's Gift of Naming

"We live on a round planet."

Dr. Leonard Sweet

Yesterday Pastor Dave preached on Genesis 2: 18-24 - our physical participation in creation. We have a vertical relationship with our God and we have a vertical and horizontal relationship with the creation that surrounds us. God gave us names, a name related to the call in our lives. We are called not be alone, but to be in relationships with others - to learn others names and to be there for them.

If you missed worship, you can watch here.  Pray with us here. Check out photos from the week’s ministry:

Mon, Oct. 1 – Bingo at The Gathering Place

Sat, Oct. 6 – Extreme Community Makeover in the West Colfax Neighborhood

Sun, Oct. 7 – Worship

Questions for reflection on the message:

  • How often do you give thanks for the vegetation produced upon the earth? See Genesis 1:11 for reflection.
  • After reading Genesis 1:26-28, what role do see yourself and humanity in general playing in creation?
  • What role do names play in your life?
  • Looking ahead to next week: When you read Mark 10:17-31, what do you presume is necessary for salvation?
