Sunday to Monday/Change is Possible

The October sermon series Living in the Story of Genesis continued with Pastor Dave’s sermon, “Change is Possible.”

He talked about Sarah & Abraham. God tells Abraham that his wife Sarah will have a son. Sarah overhears this and laughs, as she considers her old age. God hears Sarah’s laughter and asks, “Is anything too wondrous for God?” Gen. 18:14

God brought new things to their life and God brings new things to our life. He breaks the norm. We are created to leave the tribe and do something new. Change is possible.

He referred to John Kotter, an expert on change and steps for change.

· Change frames – reframe things
· Think “big” for a change
· Tap into emotion

Questions to help you reflect on yesterday’s message:

·What are your “Terebinths,” the mighty trees where you meet your God?
·What do you laugh at, thinking it maybe should be changed but never will? (Genesis 21:1-7)
·What do you pray for that Jesus might reframe in your life?
