Sunday to Monday / Why Me Lord

The 4th Sunday in Lent we considered Jesus' and our feelings of abandonment and wondering if God can be really be trusted. Pastor Dave gave us assurance that God the Father, creator of heaven and earth is trustworthy and we can rest safely knowing that God is always with us.

Jaiden Kenzie Frye was baptized and welcomed into the baptized family at the 9:00 service and at both services we heard from Mr. Blake Unger, RCHS Band teacher who's room we share with thanks for a gift to help them get some storage in place.

Go here to watch one of the services if you missed it. Check out photos from recent events:

Here are reflection and discussion starters and links to take the message into your week.

  • When was the last time you read the catechism? Read the First Article of the Creed and its meaning. Reflect upon it in prayer. See it here http://ctkelc.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Martin-Luthers-Small-Catechism.pdf
  • Have you ever had a moment when you said, “Today I have decided that God is not to be entirely trusted.” (Russell Baker “Growing Up”)
  • How would it impact your life of faith if before each moment of doubt or complaint you said the word “Nevertheless” , as Dr Albert Winn instructs us to do?
  • How does physical pain impact your relationship with God? See John 19:28,29 as a reference.
  • Looking ahead to next Sunday: What do you believe about God the Father?
