Sunday to Monday/ What Would Jesus Eat?

Lord Jesus, you are water offered in a parched place; help us to drink in your wisdom.                                        Jesus, you are the bread set before starving people; help us to be nourished by your truth.
Jesus, you are the vine, putting down roots into deep, good soil; help us lovingly to cling like branches to you        Jesus, you are the light of the world; help us to bask in your warmth.                                                               Living water, bread of life, feed us now and always. Amen.                                                                             ~William Willimon

On Sunday, Pastor Dave continued his sermon series Spiritual Wellness-Diet & Exercise to Grow with God. This week’s sermon was entitled “What Would Jesus Eat.” Text was from John 6:35-51.

Some questions to help you reflect on Sunday’s message:

· When you hear the word “diet” what comes to mind?

· When Jesus says, “I am the bread of life,” (John 6:41) what diet comes to mind?

· If Jesus came to your home tonight for dinner, what would you serve, what would you talk about? (keep in mind you will be there for dinner)

· Pray that we might all dine on the “bread comes down from heaven,” and be satisfied. (John 6:48-51)

Jesus, we are hungry for your bread and thirsty for your living waters. But sometimes our lack of faith is like a person with a cold who passes a bakery and cannot smell the fragrance of baking bread. In proportion to our faith, our hearts and minds are opened to you, and we are fed and nourished. May our faith grow, so that nourished by your bread and water, we may nourish others. Open our hearts to firm belief. Amen.
