Sunday to Monday / We Are Here

“The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little ways past them into the impossible.” Arthur C. Clarke

Our week began with John 20:19-31 and the story of the risen Jesus appearing to the disciples behind locked doors and breathing his peace on them and Thomas not believing until he could see for himself. Pastor Dave shared that it's our wounds and scars and just showing up that we make Jesus known.

Mike Thompson shared his testimony of a trip he made with his company to serve in Nicaragua. Very cool. Faith at work (literally and figuratively!) Thanks Mike and iQmetrix. Watch this video to see what they did.

Reflection and discussion starters for the week.

  • If you had been Thomas, how would you have felt? (John 20:19-31)
  • Have doubts and wounds ever been turned to tools for constructing greater faith in your life? (John 20:19-31)
  • Reflect upon the statement by Arthur C. Clarke, “The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little ways past them into the impossible.” Do you agree? Are you prone to moving into the impossible?
  • Do you desire more “peace” in your life? What is the “peace” Jesus offers us? (Luke 24:36-48)
