Sunday to Monday / Walking

“Are you saying, ‘WOW’ as a prayer at least once a day?”
Anne Lamott

Sunday we heard the story of Jesus' disciples walking on the road to Emmaus after Jesus' death and rumors that his tomb was empty. (Luke 24:13-32). The disciples were discouraged and didn't realize that Jesus joined them on their walk.

Sometimes we don't realize in our discouragement that Jesus is walking with us. We can be companions on the journey for one another to help us know that Jesus is with us. Pastor Dave shared portions of Ed Stafford's TedTalk about his walk along the Amazon River. Watch the full talk here

Look around and be open to what you might be missing; it might be the very presence of God. See photos from worship here

  • When have you been spiritually discouraged? (Luke 24:13-32)
  • Have you ever not seen something that was right in front of you because you were not looking for it?
  • What spiritual impact does the Emmaus Road story have on your perspective on Holy Communion? (Luke 24:28-32)
  • What impact is there in hearing your name? (John 10:11-18
