Sunday to Monday / The Spirit is Love

“Lord show us the Father and we will be satisfied.”
John 14:8

It was Pentecost Sunday yesterday and we celebrated the Holy Spirit moving among us and in us and around us. Pastor Dave shared this definition of the Holy Spirit: it's Jesus in our ears hearing what he hears, in our hearts loving what he loves, in the work of our hands as his work. You know it's the Spirit when LOVE is the language.

The Spirit was at work as we welcomed and installed Jessica Thompson as our Summer Intern.

Take the message into your week for reflection and conversation.

  • When you read Genesis 11:7 and Acts 2:6 what are your reflections?
  • When and where have you seen the common language of love bring people together in unexpected ways? Might it have been the power of the Holy Spirit?
  • Pray the prayer “Lord show us the Father and we will be satisfied”(John 14:8) for a week and meditate on what the Lord is saying to you.
  • What does the word Trinity mean to you?
