Sunday to Monday/ Shaken

“The original stone must have been as heavy as all the other stones in history, that ever block life.  It is still gathering momentum.  We are slowly understanding the stone.  It must be our own.”

~ Laurence Freeman, on the stone rolled away on Easter morning and all other rolling stones.

Yesterday, Pastor Dave’s Easter sermon was entitled “Be Content to Be Shaken.”  Text was from Hebrews 12:25-13:6 and Matthew 28:1-10.

Some questions to think about as you start your week…

• What large changes or earthquakes have come to the world in the course of your lifetime?

• Do you live in the midst of an earthquake (Hebrews 12:26)?  What is the resurrected Jesus (Matthew 28:2) calling you to be?  A rescuer or a victim?

• What story are you living out of?  We all want to live out of a story.  How might you live more fully in the Easter story (Matthew 28:1-10)?

• In the midst of an earthquake, old maps are useless.  One must have a compass and know true north.  Jesus is the only thing that is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Regular worship, prayer, scripture, reflection, and service contribute to Christ being our compass.  Is Jesus your compass?
