Sunday to Monday | Rest is Good News

“If you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy….you’ll be free to enjoy God!” Isaiah 58:13-14

We gathered for worship the first Sunday of 2020 and welcomed our brother and Love, Light and Melody partner Brad Corrigan. Brad brought a fresh word for the new year that we needed to hear: "The Good News is not good news if you're exhausted. REST is the Good News." Slow down, don't obsess on yesterday, but be here now. If you missed being with us watch here and see a few photos here

Make sure your 2020 calendar is marked with these events!

  • Mon, Jan 20 - MLK Marade
  • Sun, Jan 26 - Dan Gonzalez, son of Pancho Gonzales will preach with Pastor Dave
  • Feb 7-9 - Trip to Memphis/Booneville, MS
  • Sat, Feb 15 - Advance "Beyond Belief: Faith in Practice"
  • Sun, Feb 16 - Annual Congregational Gathering
  • Wed, Feb 26 - Ash Wednesday worship gathering

Taking the message into all the days of our lives, not just Sunday.

  • Read Isaiah 58 – all of it! Where is God speaking to you in it?
  • How do you obsess about yesterday and miss what God is doing now?
  • Where do you need to slow down?
  • “The good news is not good news if you’re exhausted. Rest is the Good News!” – Brad Corrigan. Write your own acrostic for the word REST to remind you to engage in resting.
  • Looking ahead to next week: What do you know about your baptism?
