Sunday to Monday | Presence

“Be present even when everything inside you says to run.”

Prof. Dan Olson

Palm Sunday worship began with the high of celebrating Jesus our king, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!" And ended with the story of the Passion from Matthew 27. Pastor DJ shared how even when we're running on empty God is present. In the dark days of our suffering, Jesus is there, suffering with us. The ground on which we stand is holy ground. If you were unable to be with us, you can watch here and pray with us here. See photos from yesterday's Worship and Taco Bar/Bunco event.

Holy Week started yesterday with our Palm Sunday worship. We'll be looking for you at these Holy Week worship experiences:

  • Maundy Thursday, April 18: In honor of Jesus' mandate that we love one another and his sharing of the Last Supper we will Serve at Third Thursday with the Open Door AfterSchool Program, 4:00 - 5:15 pm at Wyatt Academy and Worship in the World at the Welton St Cafe, 5:30 pm.
  • Good Friday, April 19: Annual worship with our partner Confluence Ministries, 7:00 pm, 1400 Quitman St, Denver. Followed by fellowship and light snacks at the Dietvorst home.
  • Resurrection Sunday, April 21: Easter celebration worship in the RCHS Auditorium, 9:00 & 10:30 am

For your Holy Week reflections, devotions and conversations:

  • When have you heard God calling you to be present when you wanted to run? Listen to/watch Jackson Brown's "Running on Empty"
  • How often do you trust the ground you stand upon is Holy?
  • Read the passion story once more: Matthew 27:11-51. What stands out to you?
  • Looking ahead to next week: What is your Easter dream? Where do hope that Easter strikes with new life and redemption?
