Sunday to Monday / PeaceMaking

"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." ~ Romans 12:18

Dr. Rick Love began teaching us about peacemaking.  Not peace-keeping.  Not peace-achieving.  But peacemaking.  Jesus teaches in Matt 5:9 -- "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." We know that we are children of God when we are peacemakers.

Here are three key points of peacemaking that Dr. Love shared:

  1. Live at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18)
  2. Start with the heart (Matthew 7:3-5)
  3. Make every effort (Romans 14:19; Ephesians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14)

We hope you will join us for a day with Dr. Love expanding on these themes, what it means to be a peacemaker in our world today and how we can love others the way Jesus does.  Saturday, January 24, 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. Click here for details and to register for the event.

It was a great weekend of worship and celebrating 10 years of GGCC!  See photos from the weekend's events:

For your reflections, discussions, conversations and continued faith journey:

  • What keeps you from living at peace with others? (Romans 12:18)
  • How do you engage conflict? Do you engage it? Or, do you run away as fast as you can? Why?
  • If Christian-Muslim relations are one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century, what should followers of Jesus do about it?
  • Looking ahead to next week: What impact did Martin Luther King, Jr have on you personally?
