Sunday to Monday / Peace is Generous

Our Peace sermon series continued with "Peace is Generous" based on Luke 14:25-33.  The hard words of Jesus remind us there is a cost to discipleship. The hard words of Jesus urge us to count the cost, to forsake those we hold most dear, to give away our possessions - they are true words.  Pastor Dave reflected on the life of William Jumper and how the Holy Spirit transformed his life and the generous peace that came from it.

Some thoughts for this week ...

  • If you were to summarize the purpose of your life in one sentence, what would you say?  What would Jesus say your purpose is?  (Luke 14:25-34)
  • What are Jesus’ “family values?”  (Luke 14:26, 27)
  • Who do you know who practices true greatness?  What is your level of greatness?  (Matthew 18:1-5)
  • Why does humanity seek to harm the dreamers such as Martin Luther King Jr?  (Genesis 37:19-20)
  • Pray that you might give up your life to generously follow Jesus.
