Sunday to Monday / Peace for the Lost

On Sunday, our special guest preacher was Rev. Leon Kelly, Director of Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives and Flip the Script.  His message was about the lost and how each of us is important to God.

Some thoughts for this week:

  • How might you support Rev. Kelly’s ministry, prayer, financially, service hours, other?
  • When you read Luke 15:1-7, what phrase or word stands out?  Reflect and pray into what Jesus places on your mind.
  • When have you been a “lost sheep?”  How did you come to see the searching Shepherd Jesus?
  • Who are the “lost” of this world?  Pray that the lost might receive peace.

  • Reaching out to the lost - ideas for all ages to connect with the lost: http://www.vibrantfaithathome.org/
  • In Jesus' parable there were 100 sheep, count a group of 100 items (beans, legos, chips) and see what it looks like to remove (or lose) just one.   If  one were missing, would you go out of your way to search for it?  Why or why not?  How does it feel to know that Jesus would do that for you?
  • Play a game of hide and seek!   Talk about the joy of being found or being the one who found the others.  Celebrate Jesus' love and think of ways to include others in your family activities.
