Sunday to Monday | Peace

“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart.” (Unknown

We gathered for the 2nd Sunday in Advent to remember that Jesus comes to bring us peace. Pastor Dave opened the story of Mary being visited by the Angel Gabriel to hear of something new that God was doing. When we accept that there is more than what we understand/expect, God brings peace. (Luke 1:26-56) We welcomed Rev. Leon Kelly and celebrated our shared ministry. He reminded us of Jesus' power to calm and bring peace in the midst of the storms. (Luke 4) If you missed being with us, watch it here

As we prepare this Advent season for God breaking into our world and lives, we know that we can share this Good News!

  • Sign up to welcome guests on Christmas Eve! We're throwing a big party for Jesus' birthday and we want everyone to come! Contact Claudia to serve with set up, hospitality, nursery, clean up.
  • Sign up to serve at the Open Door Christmas party set up or day of party where we focus on being good neighbors here

Take the message into your week.

  • When you read Luke 1:26-38 what word(s) or thoughts stand out?
  • What is your favorite children’s book and why?
  • When have you seen someone demonstrate peace in the midst of a great storm? Pray for the Lord to lead you(us) there.
  • Looking ahead to next week: What might we learn about love from Joseph? See Luke 1:18-25.
