Sunday to Monday | Palm Sunday

On Sunday, we processed from the lobby of Rock Canyon High School into the auditorium, waving palm branches. Painter Scott Freeman blessed us with his performance art entitled "The Passover Lamb." It was an awesome morning. Holy Week has begun again!

A prayer for Palm Sunday…Lord Jesus Christ, even as you entered Jerusalem, on this day enter our world, enter our hearts and lives, and come to us and rule over us.

Teach us, day by day, to serve you as you ought to be served, to walk with you where you walk, to talk as you talk, and to be the faithful followers whom you deserve.

Give us the strength to follow you toward the cross, not thinking about ourselves and our needs, but focusing upon God’s reign and its triumph. Amen.

Some questions to think about as we enter Holy Week…

-Have you ever known a crowd of human beings who could say “Hosanna to the Son of David” (Matthew 21:9), and “Crucify Him!” (Matthew 27:22) to the same person in the same week?

-What have you done when you have seen a group turn on someone? What would you have done for Jesus had you been in the Matthew 27:22 mob?

-Dr. Jim Nestingen has said, “that in our closest relationships we spend all of our days between Good Friday and Easter.” What does that mean for you and your your closest relationships?

-Have you ever had a moment when Jesus was so real in your life you confessed with the Centurion, “Truly this man was God’s son.” (Matthew 27:54)
