Sunday to Monday | "NO" Authority

Churchill said these words on October 29th, 1941, when he visited Harrow School.  It was after the Blitz and things were looking up a bit for Britain.  Here is the relevant part of the speech:

“But for everyone, surely, what we have gone through in this period—I am addressing myself to the School—surely from this period of then months, this is the lesson:  never give in.  Never give in.  Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force.  Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

On Sunday, Pastor Dave’s sermon was titled “Scripture Has NO Authority” and based on the text from Matthew 21:23-32 and Luke 2:41-51.

During the 10:30 service, we also celebrated the Holy Baptism of Lydia Ponthip Norasaeng, welcoming her into God’s family.

Some questions to think about as you start the week…

• Pray and reflect upon your ability to say “no.”  Have you faithfully followed Jesus’ way of saying “no” so you can say “yes” to Jesus?  (Matthew 21:28-32)

• Where have you said “yes” but you need to revisit the issue and say “no?”

• Do you have enemies?  Do your enemies remind you of what you have faithfully said “no” and “yes” to?  (Matthew 21:23-37)

• Pray for every two year old saying “no,” that they say “yes” to Jesus.  (Matthew 21:28-32)
