Sunday to Monday / Multiplication

“…make them sit down…”

Luke 9:14

It was a great day of worship and reflecting on how with Jesus, a little is a lot. Pastor Dave taught about the Feeding of the 5000 - the only miracle described in all four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John in the New Testament). He shared a learning from Terry Hershey that all miracles have 3 components:

  1. Bless the bread/thank God for what is given
  2. Sit down and be ready to receive
  3. Share

We heard how Jesus multiplied our last week's offerings with a total of $9493 to be given away! And, we learned that Jesus can use our small gifts to change the world.

Click here for photos from yesterday  morning and here for photos from yesterday afternoon's Holy Communion Workshop.

Go into your week thoughtfully, reflectively and conversationally:

  • What does it mean to “Stay there til you leave…” (Luke 9:4) To be “present”?
  • How might Jesus engage you further in his miraculous formula to a)bless bread, b)sit down, c)share it?
  • What do you have to share that could feed multitudes?
  • Looking ahead to next week: How much faith is enough? (Luke 17:1-10)
